Trekking

Trekking in Nepal is a journey on foot principally through rural, rugged and off-the beaten areas where there is no means of transport is offered. While trekking you enjoy an up-close view of the mountain scenery, experience local culture, tradition, religion and lifestyle of the people. Nepal is a mountainous country and most of the places and villages are not connected by roads, and the only real way to visit them is on foot. You walk through paths and trails that connect various villages inhabited by diverse ethnic groups of people along the route. Trekking in Nepal can be of any duration – from 2-3 days to more than one month, it all depends on interest, physical strength and budget of the trekkers. You always find villages along the trails, usually containing lodges also known as a “tea house” that provides you a place to sleep and food to eat. Most of these tea houses are located in small picturesque villages along the very well marked trails Most of the treks in Nepal are organized in the hills and mountains where you will experience different terrain, encounter different groups of ethnic people and explore unique culture and tradition between one trekking areas to another. The topography changes from lush to arid and the villages and customs also transform with varied landscapes. In Nepal there are more than hundred trekking routes based in the Annapurna region, Langtang-Helambu and Everest region. The'Everest Base Camp' trek and 'Round Annapurna' trek are considered some of the best trekking trails in Nepal and even in the world. Thousands of trekkers from different countries visit Nepal to enjoy an up-close sight of the mountain scenery and experience local culture, tradition, religion and lifestyle of the people. The starting and ending points of most of the treks are well accessed usually by overland drive or by flight. The best time for trekking in Nepal l is in the spring (March-May) and autumn (September-October). The winters in the Himalayas are full of snow and very cold, and the summers are extremely wet. The weather in spring and autumn remain dry and warm and trekkers can enjoy a lot during this time. At lower altitudes it will be hot and sweaty, and as you trek higher altitude you will need warmer clothes.
