All the Itinararies and trekking routes operated by Adventure 14 Peaks have been fully developed with the support of our guides. We constantly search and explore new trekking routes across the country to let our clients experience spectacular beauty and culture. Each adventure tour itinerary has been properly evaluated and verified as per the trails feasibility, attractiveness, lodge facility, security, distance coverage and walking hours in order to be able to give our clients as much a true description of about the programs. When we develop a new trekking route, we thoroughly and constantly check the itinerary through our guides’ trip reports. If we identify a problem in any of the newly developed routes, we immediately modify our itinerary in order to ensure a complete safety to our clients. We generally avoid taking our clients to those areas that have been over-exploited. Or, if we happen to operate the trips, we will do it in such a way that help to minimize the contact with the crowds of the tourists and allow our clients to experience more authentically and promote a positive cultural exchange with local people and environment of Nepal.

Makalu Base Camp Trekking is a challenging trek in the most isolated and very remote eastern region of Nepal. It takes you to the base camp of the world's fifth highest Mountain, Makalu. This unique adventure trek to Makalu Base Camp gives an insight into rich cultural heritage, incomparable natural beauty and ecological diversity. Trek to Makalu base camp begins in Tumlingtar, a small village. The trail gently goes uphill from the cultivated fields, Sherpa settlements, rhododendron forest and high passes before arriving at Makalu Base Camp .You will pass through Arun River Valley, one of the least visited areas. The Makalu Conservation Area lies on the way to Makalu Base Camp and has been a home to rare species of various birds and wild animals. While trekking, you will be much impressed by the sight of high waterfalls flowing downward on a series of rock steps into deep gorges, rugged rocks mounting from lush green forests and beautiful flowers blossoming beneath white snow peaks. The incomparable beauty of Makalu region lures to any trekker venturing into this region. Makalu base camp trekking encompasses the major part of the Arun Valley which is considered the world's largest valley. You will walk through Makalu- Barun Conservation Area, and lakes viewing up-close views of several high mountains. Arun and Barun valley is abode to more than 650 species of birds and 800 species butterflies. You will follow Hile or Tumlingtar trail up to the Arun Kosi and then further uphill ridge to Sedua and Num, then cross Shipton La Pass (4260m) through the upper Barun Khola Valley enjoying up- close sights of Mt. Makalu and Mt. Chhamlang. During the trek you will see orchids and other alpine flowers along the jungle trail, Buddhist prayer flags at Shipton La. Trekking to Makalu Base Camp is an amazing experience for those wanting a true adventure in Nepal. From the vantage point above Makalu Base Camp you will be mesmerized with the views of the world's highest mountains, including Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Chamlang (7,319m), Makalu (8,463m), and Baruntse (7,220m). Best season for Makalu trekking is either Pre-monsoon (March to June) or Post-monsoon (September to November). However, Post-monsoon is considered the best. Makalu base camp trekking can be attempted only by those trekkers who are experienced and exceptionally fit to endure challenges.
